Job Sharing Success Factors

To make job sharing succeed, the following issues need to be considered:

•
  Proper Pairing
•  Nature of the Job
•  Communication

•  Adequate Coverage and Appropriate Schedules
•  Development Opportunities

If job sharers are allowed to trade time with one another, they can provide better coverage for a position than one full-time employee can.  If they have significantly different skills and experience, they can cross train one another, leading to expanded skills for both.
